“The Death of a Princess”
The West was outraged at the death of a princess in Saudi Arabia. It was a thing unbearable to it and unforgivable. It meant such a set-back to its propaganda work. For decades its Judao-Christian media, brimming full in its heart with black hatred, was painting a foul picture of Islam. Muslims in general and Arabs in particular were being portrayed as a corrupt and sensous people and Islam a vile and barbaric religion. But then this event took place ! A princess was tried in the public court—it was presented there by her family-and according to the law of Islam sentenced to death after confessions of her crime. Unalloyed, the news would have been alarming. Readers were sure to ask: Is peoples and nations that apply its laws to their lives ? If so why do we not get news of total anarchy in their lands—if what we have been taught of Islam is true? And what about the reported rampant mcxal corruption in the Muslim world ? If the stories are true why did they have to punish a princess for such a small crime ? Or, is it possible that they still lead pure and innocent lives out there? And imagine, if such trivial failing of the member of a Royal Family does not go unpunished then what kind of life the common folk lead ? Surely a purer one ! Or was it a political killing? But then why kill a woman?!
Such would have been the disturbing questions that the Westerners would have asked. And any fair answer would have laid bare the ugly crimes of the Western news media. Therefore the news itself had to be twisted. First it was said she made love to a non-Royal, non-Saudi man—unbearable to the proud Saudis. Then it was added that she was unmarried and ordinarily could not be sentenced to death even by Islamic law. Therefore the Saudis were concealing some facts ! Thus the minds of the people were taken off the awkward questions the news could evoke.
Not satisfied with that they decided to make a film which would turn the noble example into an ugly incident. They would present in the film the sex-life of every Western home as that of the Saudi Royal Family ! And it is to the credit of their diabolic dexterity and our witless gullibility that they succeeded through it in making us feel ashamed instead of proud of the noble example.
But the question is, what shall we lament ? Their diabolic dexterity or our witless gullibility?
